Exhibition opening with concert
"Moscow Symphony" for string orchestra by Hermann Nitsch

On the occasion of the festivities, musicians of the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna will play the “Moscow Symphony” for string orchestra by Hermann Nitsch under the direction of Michael Mautner.
The exhibition will be opened by Michael Karrer, Hermann Nitsch and the Second President of the Lower Austrian Parliament Gerhard Karner in representation of Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
“the music composed for the orgien mysterien theater is developing more and more in the direction of spherical sounds. cosmic rushing of the becoming of galaxies is intended. my music consists primarily of layers of elongated sound complexes. michael mautner has created a symphony for a string orchestra from the score of my first string quartet. this symphony was successfully premiered on the occasion of the 8th biennial in moscow.” – Hermann Nitsch
In the chapel of the exhibition structure, the Institute for Sound Research at the Academy of Sciences is implementing a large-scale projection of the music of Hermann Nitsch. The Akusmonautikum Wien enables the sound reproduction of this music.

– Due to the Covid19 regulation a maximum of 117 guests can participate in the event. The First-Come-First-Service principle applies.
– On the day of the event, no admission is possible for persons without registration.
– The regulations for wearing a mouth-and-nose protection or other protective measures valid on the day of the event apply.
– A mouth-and-nose protector must be worn on entering the museum until you take your seat and every time you leave your seat.
