In the presence of the artist, the Nitsch Foundation opens the exhibition “HERMANN NITSCH: 80” at its location in Hegelgasse 5, 1010 Vienna.

On the occasion of the 80th birthday of Hermann Nitsch and in addition to the biographical exhibition “Nitsch – Life and Work” in the nitsch museum, Mistelbach. Artworks by the artist from the disciplines of his Orgien Mysterien Theater will be shown, including the original artwork of the book “Hermann Nitsch. Drawings” and the limited special edition of the revised book “Hermann Nitsch. Leben und Arbeit – aufgezeichnet von Danielle Spera”.

The overview ranges from early painterly and graphic works such as informal doodle drawings to large-format relic works, architectural drawings, colour scales and collages to current graphic works and action paintings. Action photographs, film documentaries and scores will complete this concentrated exhibition of works.
