Kultursommer 2025 in Bregenz invites you to the opening of the exhibitions “Aderlass” by Hermann Nitsch and “Aderlass kulinarisch” by Paul Renner.

The starting point of Kultursommer 2025 is the exhibition on Hermann Nitsch. His work lives from the ritual gesture, from blood, sound, symbol and body. The exhibition explores central themes of his art as a space of experience – intense, demanding, present. Relics from the Orgien Mysterien Theater, action paintings, photographs and films are presented – including a documentary about the artist.

A special focus is on the collaboration with Paul Renner, who made a striking statement with his Teatrum Anatomicum (2007, Kunsthaus Bregenz), a performative installation in which Hermann Nitsch performed his 123rd action.
