„A Language for the Land“

1. Pulkautal Biennal

July 11 — 19, 2026, 11am — 4pm

Hadres, Hadres, AT

On 11 July 2026 the first Pulkautal Biennal, titled “A Language for the Land” will open its doors in Hadres in the wine region north of Vienna.

The inaugural Pulkautal Biennale explores the perspectives art can offer, for reconsidering the relationship between the landscape and its inhabitants. Among the vineyards, fields, and old cellar lanes of the northwestern Weinviertel, the Pulkautal Biennale presents ecological reflections and artistic experiments. This year’s art festival navigates between global perspectives and regional realities.
The exhibited works engage in a dialogue with the landscape through material, form, color, and sound. Fifty Austrian and international artists will present works under the theme “A Language for the Land.” From 11 to 19 July 2026, the Pulkautal valley, with its fields, vineyards, and rolling hills, will become an exhibition space for artistic works that examine the relationship between people and the land. Who owns the landscape, and can it itself be seen as a work of art?
