Albertina Klosterneuburg, Klosterneuburg, AT

On April 9, 2024, the Albertina will open another location in the former “Essl Museum” in Klosterneuburg, where also the works by Hermann Nitsch from the collection will be shown.

With the opening of the Albertina in Klosterneuburg, the Albertina is pursuing the goal of making a large part of the post-1945 collection accessible to the public.

The Nitsch Foundation is particularly pleased that works by Hermann Nitsch from the former “Essl Museum” will now be on display again in the exhibition “Darkness at Noon”.

The Albertina’s collection of contemporary art currently comprises around 65,000 works of art (paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, videos and installations). The aim is to make as many works as possible of Austrian and international art accessible to the public: Art that is not currently on display in exhibitions at the two locations in Vienna or on loan is presented to the interested public in Klosterneuburg.

In 2024, the Museum Albertina Klosterneuburg will be open from 9 April to 2 November from Thursday to Sunday.

TIP: Free admission on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2024 from 10 am to 6 pm.
