"Meine 1960er Jahre"

a series of talks by the Vienna Actionism Museum

April 23, 2026

Palais Coburg Residenz, Vienna, AT

“My 1960s” is a series of talks by the Vienna Actionism Museum in cooperation with and at the Palais Coburg Residence, led by Prof. Dr. Klaus Albrecht Schröder.

To coincide with the exhibition of Hermann Nitsch’s early work from the 1960s, the Vienna Actionism Museum is dedicating a series of talks to a decade marked by the Cold War, technological progress, and social upheaval. Amidst the tension between prosperity, student revolts, and new utopian visions of freedom, lifestyles, values, and cultural expressions underwent fundamental transformations. Austria, too, experienced a transition between conservative stability and the beginnings of liberalization. Through dialogue with prominent contemporary witnesses, this era is brought to life from a personal perspective. Memory thus becomes a mirror reflecting our present.

The talks will be held in german language!
