Galerie RX invites you to an expert talk on the artist Hermann Nitsch with Sarah Imatte and Olivier Kaeppelin on Saturday, 18 November 2023 at 4pm.

The Musée National de l’Orangerie is a French museum of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting. In addition to its permanent exhibitions, it also offers contemporary juxtapositions. Works by Hermann Nitsch are on display from 12 October 2023 to 12 February 2024. In the last years of his career, the artist developed a painting of great vitality, which became increasingly colourful and was closely linked to his actions and the corresponding performance venues.

On the occasion of this exhibition “Hermann Nitsch. Hommage” at the Musee National de l’Orangerie, co-curator Sarah Imatte and art critic Olivier Kaepplin talk about the performance artist and the history and significance of his work in France.
