Great auction result!

A red “Schüttbild” (action painting) by Hermann Nitsch from 1961 achieved a record-setting result of € 600,000 at Ketterer Kunst in Munich this weekend. This is the highest auction result so far for a painting by Hermann Nitsch.

The painting was in the possession of the Haniel Collection in Duisburg for 35 years.

Already in June at Sotheby’s Art Contemporain Day Sale, the work “Ölberg” from 1960 exceeded its estimated value many times and changed its owner at a knockdown price of € 396,500.

This impressive result, in addition to the acquisition of his works in many important museums worldwide, once again confirms Hermann Nitsch’s great international standing. We are very pleased about this achievement!
