PERFORMANCE
"Sewn together" by Kata Oelschlägel
November 13, 2025, 6.30pm
Nitsch Foundation, Vienna, AT

Kata Oelschlägel will be giving a performance within her exhibition at the Nitsch Foundation.
Due to the limited capacity for the performance, reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Two bodies—that of the artist and that of a male performer—are sewn together: stitches draw lines across skin surfaces, connecting arms and legs.
A fragile, intimate fabric of body and thread emerges: a temporary unity.
In the following performative phase, the actors move, slowly at first, searching, groping.
Every movement provokes tension, every small gesture pulls at the artificially created cohesion. Gradually, the seams tear.
The separation becomes inevitable, but is not dramatically staged: the tearing happens organically, as a consequence of the movement itself.
