Join us on Thursday, 24 October 2024 at 19:00 for the opening of a special exhibition at the BRUSEUM of the Neue Galerie in Graz!

With  the drawings of Hermann Nitsch, the BRUSEUM presents an aspect of his work that has often not received the attention it deserves in view of the opulence of his actions and the dimension of his action paintings.

Even before Nitsch began working on the ideas for his Orgien Mysterien theatre in 1957, he was already exploring the themes of suffering, crucifixion, death and resurrection in his drawings. In his drawings, Nitsch merges the ‘natural event of man’ with proliferating architecture, often adapting Christian iconography in the process.

The exhibition is open to the public from 25 October 2024 up to and including 23 February 2025!
