The Passion

Group exhibition

In 2011, Hermann Nitsch came to Kunstmuseum Schloss Derneburg to set up an on-site exhibition of some 50 of his works, including large-scale installations, paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs, films, and scores. His installation of works is now an important component of the group exhibition “The Passion”, which explores the use of Christian iconography in contemporary art while honoring the long ecclesiastical history of Derneburg Castle.

The exhibition, located throughout the cloisters of the former monastery, includes approximately one hundred paintings, sculptures, videos, photographs, and works on paper by more than thirty artists. All works are from the Hall Art Foundation collection.
