Naturae. Ambienti di arte contemporanea
group show at Castello Miramare
From 6 December 2024 to 9 November 2025, the Museo storico and the park of Castello di Miramare in Trieste will host the major group exhibition “Naturae. Ambienti di arte contemporanea”, curated by Melania Rossi: a journey to discover the deep and complex bond that unites nature and humanity. The exhibition is part of the Miramare contemporanea exhibition, organized by MondoMostre and CoopCulture.
The exhibition project addresses the complexity of nature and the man who investigates it, the human presence in the landscape, the relationship with the body, with time, with the beauty of natural forms and with physical laws. In the exhibition path, nature manifests itself as art, while art takes on the role of a natural element in a constant game of glances and perspectives. Ranging from sculptural and video installations, painting, drawing, photography, the exhibition follows a dramaturgy that invites you to enter the creative universes of the individual artists, a true “hortus conclusus” that creates an exploratory and poetic journey centered on the relationship with external nature and with one’s own.
There are over 50 works presented by eighteen contemporary artists, belonging to different generations and geographical origins. Thus, between the stables and the castle park it is possible to encounter, through 12 thematic sections, works by Rebecca Horn, Hermann Nitsch, Marina Abramovic, Mimmo Paladino, Pietro Ruffo, José Angelino, Serse Roma, Marta Roberti, Simone Berti, Gianni Caravaggio, Elisabetta Di Maggio, Christiane Löhr, Jan Fabre, Sophie Ko, Luca Trevisani, Macoto Murayama, Liu Bolin and Bianco–Valente.
