AMENDOLA. Burri, Vedova, Nitsch: Azioni e gesti

photo show

“Amendola. Burri, Vedova, Nitsch: Actions and Gestures” shows photographs by the Italian photographer Aurelio Amendola together with works by three absolute protagonists of 20th century art.

In a career spanning more than sixty years, Amendola passionately devoted himself to taking portraits of artists in their studios. The exhibition, curated by Bruno Corà, consists of large-format photographic prints, sequences showing performative actions by Alberto Burri, Emilio Vedova and Hermann Nitsch in their studios, as well as unique works by the artists themselves. It highlights the different working methods of the three artists and at the same time the activity of a great Italian photographer who managed to establish a fruitful and lasting relationship and friendship with these masters.

The exhibition is presented by the Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova in collaboration with the Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini Collezione Burri at the Spazio Vedova in Venice until 24 November 2024.
